Rotten sill replacement and exterior window painting

PBD Maintenance Ltd repaired and repainted weathered exterior wooden windows at a property in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol. The work included replacing a rotten window sill, preparing and repairing the exterior timber, and repainting all windows with an oil-based undercoat and a Weathershield satinwood topcoat.

THE WORK

From weathered timber to a fresh satin finish

The windows needed both repair work and redecoration. We addressed the rotten sill and prepared the exterior woodwork before applying the undercoat and finishing coat.

01 · REPLACE

Removing the rotten sill

The exterior wooden windows were weathered, and a rotten window sill needed replacing. We removed the rotten sill and fitted a replacement before completing the decorating work.

02 · PREPARE

Preparing the woodwork

We prepared the weathered exterior timber and used specialist exterior filler for areas requiring repair. Sill replacement and the smaller repairs were completed before painting.

03 · PAINT

Undercoat and satin finish

Following preparation and repairs, we applied an oil-based undercoat followed by a Weathershield satinwood topcoat. All windows included in the job were repainted.
